Gleneagles Hospital Kota Kinabalu Cancer Centre Launches with Support from National and Local Partners

On 18 January 2025, the Cancer CRI Services Clinic and Gleneagles Hospital Kota Kinabalu officially launched their new Cancer Centre, offering integrated, multi-disciplinary services from prevention and early detection to treatment, recovery, and wellbeing support.
The launch was attended by more than 100 guests, including Dr. Nur Hasanah binti Sanudin, Deputy Director of Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Sabah; Professor Sok Ching Cheong, Chief Scientific Officer of Cancer Research Malaysia; Mr. Mohd Fadzrel Abu Bakar, Adult Program Manager of the National Cancer Society Malaysia; representatives from Clinical Research Malaysia and LPPKN Sabah; cancer advocacy groups; patients; and caregivers.
Representing the genomics research and diagnostics community, Professor Chee-Onn Leong, Founder & CEO of AGTC Genomics, joined fellow healthcare leaders in celebrating this milestone. AGTC Genomics contributes to the advancement of cancer care through its expertise in genomic testing, enabling more accurate diagnosis, personalised treatment planning, and research collaborations that help bridge the gap between laboratory innovation and clinical practice.
The launch marks a collaborative step forward in enhancing cancer care in Sabah, made possible through the combined efforts of medical professionals, researchers, policy leaders, and community advocates. Together, these partnerships aim to strengthen access to quality cancer services, foster research collaborations, and bring innovative solutions to improve patient outcomes.
