Kuala Lumpur, 16 April 2026 — AGTC Genomics played a prominent role at the 1st Regional Conference on Precision Health (RCPH), held from 15–16 April 2026 at Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur. The landmark event, organized by UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute (UMBI), brought together regional leaders in genomics, healthcare, and translational research to accelerate the adoption of precision health across Southeast Asia.

A key highlight of the conference was the official launch of the 1st Malaysian Pangenome, a significant national milestone aimed at building a more representative genomic reference for Malaysia’s diverse population. The initiative is expected to enhance disease risk prediction, improve diagnostic accuracy, and support the development of population-specific precision medicine strategies.

Representing AGTC Genomics, Professor Leong Chee-Onn emphasized the strategic importance of developing local capabilities in genomics and precision medicine.

“Localizing and building precision medicine capacity is not optional—it is crucial for the future of precision public health. Without local data, local infrastructure, and local expertise, we risk relying on models that do not fully represent our population,” said Prof. Leong. “The priority now is to make these technologies more accessible and affordable so that precision medicine benefits not just a few, but the broader population.”

AGTC Genomics’ participation underscored its ongoing commitment to advancing equitable precision diagnostics in the region. As one of Malaysia’s leading genomics providers, the company continues to advocate for the integration of next-generation sequencing (NGS), multi-omics approaches, and AI-driven analytics into routine clinical practice.

The conference also served as a platform for dialogue on critical challenges, including cost barriers, infrastructure readiness, and the need for regional collaboration. Experts highlighted that while technological capabilities have advanced rapidly, access and affordability remain the defining challenges in scaling precision health solutions.

Through its presence at RCPH 2026, AGTC Genomics reaffirmed its role as a key industry partner in translating genomic innovation into real-world healthcare impact—supporting not only advanced clinical care but also national initiatives aimed at strengthening precision public health across Malaysia and beyond.
