AGTC Genomics continues to play an active role in advancing public health awareness across Malaysia, reinforcing its mission to make precision oncology more accessible and impactful for the community.

Recently, a large-scale public health talk jointly organized by Lifecare, Biolife Lab, and Nirvana in Sibu, Sarawak, brought together more than 350 participants from diverse backgrounds. The session focused on cancer early detection, prevention, and management, highlighting the growing importance of genomics-driven healthcare in improving patient outcomes.

The strong turnout reflects a rising public awareness and interest in proactive health management—particularly in the area of cancer, where early detection remains the most critical factor in improving survival rates.

Bringing Precision Oncology Closer to the Community

During the session, participants were introduced to the latest advancements in genomic technologies, including non-invasive screening approaches and personalized cancer profiling. These innovations are transforming cancer care from reactive treatment to proactive, data-driven prevention and monitoring.

AGTC Genomics’ contributions to such initiatives underscore its commitment to not only delivering advanced diagnostic solutions, but also ensuring that knowledge and awareness reach communities beyond major urban centers.

Real Stories, Real Impact

One of the most impactful moments of the event came from Mr. Liew, a 60-year-old cancer survivor, who shared his personal journey and reflections on how far cancer diagnostics in Malaysia have progressed:

“Many years ago, when I was diagnosed, my samples had to be sent overseas for testing. It took a long time and cost a bomb. Today, I am very happy to see that Malaysia has developed these capabilities locally—and in fact, even more advanced than some countries in the region.”

Adding to this powerful testimony was a 52-year-old lady who shared her recent experience with early cancer detection. About a year ago, she underwent a Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) test, which indicated a potential cancer signal. This was subsequently confirmed through imaging and clinical evaluation by her doctor as early-stage lung cancer.

“I am truly grateful that it was discovered early. There were no major complications, and I am able to continue living my life normally.”

Her story highlights the life-changing impact of early detection—where timely intervention can significantly reduce disease burden and preserve quality of life.

Driving a Future of Accessible Precision Oncology

As Malaysia continues to strengthen its position in the precision medicine landscape, AGTC Genomics remains at the forefront of this transformation. Through continuous innovation, strategic collaborations, and community engagement, the company is committed to bridging the gap between cutting-edge science and real-world patient care.

Public education initiatives such as this Sibu event are a critical part of that journey—ensuring that individuals are empowered with the knowledge to take charge of their health.

Looking Ahead

AGTC Genomics envisions a future where precision oncology is no longer a privilege, but a standard of care—accessible, affordable, and available to all Malaysians and beyond.

By combining advanced genomic technologies with strong community outreach, AGTC is not only transforming cancer care—but also shaping a healthier, more informed society.
