AGTC Genomics proudly participated in the recently concluded Health Summit Asia 2026, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), where healthcare leaders, clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and industry innovators gathered to explore the future of healthcare and digital transformation in Asia.

Representing AGTC Genomics, Prof. Chee-Onn Leong, CEO of AGTC Genomics, joined an esteemed panel session titled "Cancer Care in the Digital Age: What Patients and Practitioners Need to Know."

Sharing the stage with Prof. Leong were distinguished healthcare leaders including Professor Cheong Sok Ching, Chief Scientific Officer of Cancer Research Malaysia, and Professor Dr. Tunku Kamarul Zaman Tengku Zainol Abidin, Vice Chancellor,

KPJ Healthcare University. Together, the panel provided diverse perspectives spanning cancer research, clinical practice, healthcare delivery, and precision medicine.

The session explored how advances in genomics, liquid biopsy, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital health technologies are transforming cancer care—from early detection and diagnosis to treatment selection, disease monitoring, and long-term patient management.

A key theme throughout the discussion was the need to bridge the gap between scientific innovation and real-world healthcare implementation. While technological breakthroughs continue to accelerate, ensuring equitable access, affordability, and clinical utility remains essential to maximizing patient benefit.

"Digital technologies and genomics are fundamentally changing the way we understand and manage cancer," said Prof. Chee-Onn Leong. "The future of cancer care lies in combining advanced molecular diagnostics, AI-powered analytics, and clinical expertise to deliver more personalized and effective care. Our collective responsibility is to ensure these innovations are translated into tangible benefits for patients across the region."

During the discussion, Prof. Leong highlighted the growing role of precision oncology tools such as Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED), Comprehensive Gene Profiling (CGP), liquid biopsy, and Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) testing in enabling earlier intervention and more informed treatment decisions.

The panel also emphasized the importance of collaboration between healthcare providers, researchers, technology developers, and policymakers in building sustainable healthcare ecosystems capable of supporting next-generation cancer care.

Health Summit Asia 2026 served as an important platform for fostering these conversations and advancing the adoption of innovative healthcare solutions across Asia. The event brought together stakeholders from across the healthcare value chain to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in digital health, precision medicine, and patient-centered care.

AGTC Genomics remains committed to advancing precision medicine through innovative genomic technologies and strategic collaborations. Through its CAP-accredited and ISO-certified genomics laboratory, the company continues to support healthcare institutions, clinicians, and researchers in delivering accessible, affordable, and clinically actionable precision healthcare solutions throughout Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
