AGTC Genomics Partners with IMU Healthcare, MOSTA and KLK OLEO to Advance Cutting-Edge Healthy Ageing Clinical Research

AGTC Genomics is proud to be among the organisations supporting a pioneering clinical research study investigating whether a natural palm-based tocotrienol-rich fraction, a form of vitamin E, may influence healthy ageing through measurable markers of cellular ageing.


The study brings together expertise and support from IMU Healthcare, the Malaysian Oil Scientists’ and Technologists’ Association (MOSTA), KLK OLEO and AGTC Genomics, combining clinical research, palm-based innovation and advanced biomedical science. The study will be conducted at IMU Healthcare Clinic, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. The research has also been reviewed and approved by the IMU Joint Committee on Research and Ethics (IMU R 346-2026), underscoring the study's commitment to appropriate ethical and scientific oversight.


Advancing the Science of Healthy Ageing


As populations around the world live longer, the focus of healthcare is increasingly shifting from simply extending lifespan to extending healthspan — the years of life spent in good health and with greater functional independence.


This study is particularly significant because it examines ageing at the cellular level, an emerging frontier in preventive and precision health. Rather than relying solely on age or conventional health measurements, the research will investigate whether nutritional intervention with a naturally derived tocotrienol-rich fraction may influence biological markers associated with the ageing process.


The nine-month study will involve Malaysian adults aged 50 to 70 years who are generally in good health and able to complete four study visits. Participants will receive complimentary health assessments, blood tests and medical reviews throughout the study.

Longitudinal research of this nature is also important because ageing is a complex and dynamic biological process. Following participants over a nine-month period provides researchers with an opportunity to examine changes over time rather than relying on a single snapshot of health.


Unlocking the Potential of Malaysia's Palm-Based Bioactives


The research also carries particular relevance for Malaysia. Tocotrienols are naturally occurring members of the vitamin E family and can be derived from palm sources. Scientifically evaluating their potential role in healthy ageing could contribute to the growing body of evidence surrounding locally relevant natural bioactives while supporting the development of higher-value research and innovation originating from Malaysia.

Contributing to the Future of Preventive Healthcare


Beyond investigating a specific nutritional intervention, the study may contribute to a broader understanding of how healthy ageing can be studied and monitored using measurable biological indicators.


This approach is closely aligned with the future direction of precision health, where interventions may increasingly be evaluated according to an individual's biological response rather than through a one-size-fits-all model.


Participants will also have the opportunity to contribute directly to research that may advance knowledge in healthy ageing and support the development of improved healthcare approaches.


Study Recruitment


The study is currently inviting eligible Malaysian adults aged 50 to 70 years to register their interest. Participants must be generally in good health, including those with stable and well-controlled medical conditions, and be willing to complete the nine-month study involving four visits.


Registration of interest is open until 30 October 2026, with the study taking place at IMU Healthcare Clinic, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.
